The goal of this list was not only to provide a catalog of resources to help people get up to speed on all things climate tech, but also to surface some of the body of science, literature, philosophy and economics that are foundational to environmental studies as a whole.
Creating a sustainable and equitable society requires interdisciplinary knowledge and collaboration, and those of us building and investing in this space have a responsibility to learn from those who have already contributed so much to our modern-day understanding of it.
I’ll plan on keeping this updated and adding to it (it’s far from complete!). So if you have corrections, suggestions, or any resources you’ve found helpful in your own ES journey, please shoot me a note and let me know!

📖 I also created a few “views” to help quickly access relevant categories:
- Climate Tech for Beginners - primers and overviews across a broad category of high-level (mostly) climate, (some) energy, and (some) nature related topics, as well as a few resources that are “foundational” to ES, plus some generalist-focused sources of news and current events in the tech & VC industry.
- Most Recent - all resources published in the last 4 years
- Climate Change - resources that deal with the science of climate change, CDR, carbon markets, and mitigation strategies
- Nature - resources that deal with ecosystem services (including biodiversity and nature-based CDR) and ecology broadly
- Energy - resources that deal with sources of energy, the grid, or other energy efficiency topics
